Christiana Campbell's Tavern

George Washington’s Favorite Tavern – giving satisfaction to Travelers and Townspeople with a taste for Seafood.

Yes, being so close to the coastal and tide waters, the colony of Williamsburg just had to have a Tavern featuring Seafood - and centuries later, it still does. Mrs. Campbell continues to serve fine gentlemen and ladies her authentic coastal fare, amidst the lyrics of strolling balladeers.

Savor tasty Pye of Oysters and Corn, Lump Crab Cakes, Sherried Shrimp with Scallops and Lobster, or enjoy Gloucester Chicken, Garden Pye or Molly’s Tavern Feature of the Day. The entrees are complemented by traditional tavern offerings of Campbell’s Cabbage Slaw, Spoon Bread and Sweet Potato Muffins. Let yourself be tempted by Rum Cream Pie, Custard Apple Pie, or our other sumptuous favourites.

Enjoy afternoon tea with Mrs. Campbell on Tuesdays and Thursdays from May through December in Campbell’s Tavern. Mrs. Campbell looks forward to regaling you with historical stories of the period as you enjoy a light three-service afternoon tea. Seating is at 2 p.m. Cost is $23.95 for adults and $12.95 for children ages 6-12 and includes tax and gratuity. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Open for dinner daily at 5:00 pm. A special children's menu is available.
