Select Foundation Operations to Pause in January 2017

Colonial Williamsburg will pause some Historic Area, hospitality and admissions operations Jan. 3-27, 2017 to focus on preservation and training during the seasonal lull in visitation.

The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg will remain open along with select Historic Area retail shops, Merchants Square, the Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg Lodge and Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel & Suites.

Chowning’s Tavern and Christiana Campbell’s Tavern will remain open, along with the Regency Room and Terrace Room restaurants and the Restoration Bar at the Williamsburg Inn, Sweet Tea & Barley and Traditions restaurants at the Williamsburg Lodge and Huzzah’s Eatery.

Group tours will be available for some school and conference guests and carriage rides will be offered on a limited basis.

Historic sites, trades shops and remaining Historic Area dining locations will be closed, as will the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center.

The Governor’s Inn will remain closed through March 2, 2017, along with selected rooms in the Colonial Houses – Historic Lodging and a portion of the Providence Hall Guest Houses.
