Party Like It’s 1928 with Tunes from 1978!

After 85 years, Merchants Square is better than ever, and invites the community to celebrate with a blowout birthday bash on Duke of Gloucester Street, Friday October 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. The free concert and celebration will feature the renowned Right On Band.

A special treat for this event is a food tent with great, affordable picnic-style food from all of the Merchants Square restaurants. From hotdogs and burgers to brats, she-crab soup and shrimp and grits, the restaurants will offer a variety of foods priced at 85 cents to $4.85. Adult beverages will be available for purchase as well. Younger audience members will find plenty to do prior to the concert, with special children’s activities courtesy of The College of William and Mary Bookstore. Food service and children’s activities begin at 6 p.m., with music and dancing from 7-9 p.m.
