Jobs at CWF: Tips for Applying Online

Tips for Applying Online

Our online job postings and application procedure has changed. Please read the information below to guide you through the new system.

Getting Started:

  • To apply for a position with Colonial Williamsburg, please register and complete the application by selecting "login" above. Note your user ID name and password so you can return to the site for 90 days without reregistering. After 90 days, you will have to complete a new registration and application.
  • If you have previously registered, simply log in before applying for another position. Enter your user ID and password.
  • To update a previously completed application, select "profile" in the application section, enter your user ID and password, and make changes. To save changes, select "submit" at the bottom of the screen.
  • From the list of available positions, select a posting that interests you. If you wish to apply, choose "apply now" at the bottom of the description page. Fill out the application, and select "submit" to finalize your application.
In some cases, additional requirements may be necessary for consideration of your application. These requirements will be set in bold for you; e.g.,“Requires typing test completed within last 12 months with a result of at least 50 words per minute after errors.” Typing tests can be taken at any state employment office (such as the Virginia Employment Commission), which will fax the results to us at (757) 565-8780.
  • Only internal candidates will be considered for jobs designated "Open to current Colonial Williamsburg employees only."

Applying

  • If you would like to include a cover letter and resume, please paste it in the section of the application labeled “resume.” To facilitate the process, "select" the area that you would like to copy from a document you have saved on a disk or your computer's hard drive. Hold the control key and "c" down at the same time. Return to the online application and, in the resume section, hold the control key and "v" down at the same time. Your cover letter and resume will appear.

Understanding the Application

  • Source Code: How did you learn about this position? (e.g., "newspaper")
  • Source Name: A more detailed choice from the source code (e.g., Daily Press)
  • Education: If your major and/or institution are not listed, please select 'other.' Specify the information in the resume/cover letter section of the application.

  • You will be notified if your application is no longer being considered.
  • We thank you for applying for employment with Colonial Williamsburg and wish you success in your job search.
