Charitable gift annuities accomplish two goals: making a gift to Colonial Williamsburg and retaining a fixed income for life. Charitable gift annuities are the most conservative of the life income gifts because the obligation to make annuity payments is backed by all of Colonial Williamsburg's assets. The minimum amount to establish a gift annuity is $10,000, either in cash or marketable securities.
