Participant's Guide to the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute 2014

College Credit

Particpant in field Attending the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute provides you the opportunity to apply for three hours of graduate education credit from the University of San Diego (Course Title: Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute in Early American History). Credit will be given for attending all sessions, programs, and performances during the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute and submission of one original lesson plan based on historical content learned while attending the Teacher Institute. The credit is only offered through the spring after completing the Institute. (PLEASE NOTE: Online registration closes in mid-May).

Summer 2014 attendees will have until December 31, 2014 to submit a lesson plan and request the graduate credit. The lesson plan will be reviewed by January 31, 2015. Once it has been approved, you will be directed to the University of San Diego web site where you will complete their online college credit application and submit a $225.00 payment (price subject to change) to receive the three hours of graduate credit.

[Note: If you are a 2014 graduate who needs college credit in the fall, please submit your lesson by November 1, 2014. Be sure to include: 1) a note indicating you need the lesson graded as soon as possible for credit recognition in the fall, and 2) the date it is needed. The Manager of Teacher Development will make every effort to provide you with results within one month.]
